How To Check and Recognize Original Converse Bags

Converse has some product lines such as shoes, cap, clothes also bags. I'm one of people who likes and use products from Converse especially bag. I like bags from Converse because it has a lot of variation, interesting color combination also has good material quality, I never had issue when using it for daily.

Converse bags have many styles and color combination released every season, as I know Converse bags has 4 season so there will be new style for every 3 month. Thus we must be carefully check the bags whether it is original from Converse or it just Converse imitation or it is fake Converse Bags.

Since I have quite some Converse Bags I could share to you how to recognize the original one, but please be noted below is form my personal knowledge, if there is something inaccurate you can inform me on comments section.

How To Check & Recognize Original Converse Bags

1. LOGO

Front Side of Bags

Converse bags usually has logo at the front side of the bags, it can be printing or patch logo.

For printing you can try to swipe it, the printing will feel smooth and quite thick. From the visual the printing will have glossy effect as below photo.

For Patch Logo as I know Converse bags has a lot of variations but mainly has rounded Converse Chuck Taylor Logo with a lot of color variation. For the new styles patch logo embroidered to the body of the bag, the embroidery thread it self has little glossy effect as below photo.

For the old style the logo not embroidered to the body so the edge can be pealed off and the edge don't have glossy effect as below photo.

Both of logo is original it depends on your bags whether it is new or old style. The other styles which don't use printing or Chuck Taylor logo usually use Patch from Rubber as below photo.

Back Side of Bags

For the back side we can recognize original Converse bags from shoulder part, on Converse Backpack model bags usually have Converse label on left side (when you see it form back side of the bags).

Remember it is only for backpack model, other than that usually don't have it.

Inside of Bags

At the inside of Converse bags you will see black Converse logo, it is stitched with back body of the bags. You can check the logo, it should be smooth and the letter should be very clear to read.

The Hang tag combination and quantity is vary  from each style but make sure if you have at least the black Converse hang tag as below.

If your Converse bags don't have this black hangtag, I can tell you if it has big possibility to be the fake one.

3. Care Label

When you check inside of the back you will find white care label in it. check the last sheet of care label and you will find Converse barcode as below.

at the top of the care label there is number which I think indicates style number, you can try to google it, for example here mine is 10017261-A01-001, if the style is matching with your bags  it should have big possibility to be the original one. 

4. Bartack Stitching

If you buy Converse Backpack model, try to check inside of the bags there will be bartack stitching on the connection between body and shoulder of the bags as below.

The bartack stitching used to strengthen your bags, so it will not be easy broke-down when you carry heavy load. But remember due to it's function the bartack stitching only found on backpack models, I don't find it on small bags like cross body or pouch.

5. Webbing

Webbing is a rope like thing which used to connect bag shoulder to lower body, so our bag shoulder length can be adjusted. Converse bags use several kinds of webbing like poly webbing, nylon webbing and cotton webbing which all of it felt thick and smooth when we swipe on it.

6. Accessories

From what I learned Converse bags accessories like slider and buckle has some mark which I use to indicates whether it is original or not.

For slider I saw Converse slider has mark "D" or "SAB" or some times "YKK"

For Buckle I saw marking "flex" or "ykk" as below photos.
